First Quarter Junior Dragons First Quarter Junior Dragons

New this school year, Jefferson Academy staff members began recognizing students who displayed our Dragons R.O.A.R. motto. Students who were seen going above and beyond to embody what it means to be respectful, on task and ready, always safe, and responsible received a Jr. Dragon award. Students were celebrated by our school administration and received a treat coupon for all of their hard work. We love celebrating our student leaders!

Welcome to Jefferson Academy!

My name is Christopher Whitworth and I am both honored and privileged to serve as your child's Principal. We, at JA, are proud of our partnerships that support the enhancement of our students' educational journeys and know that it takes our surrounding community, staff, and families, in collaboration, to set a vision so that all of our students reach their highest potential and have a great experience in school.

We will build upon our students' many assets and continue to support rigorous instruction to meet all of our students' individual needs. We are a team every step of the way! I encourage you to read daily with your child, have them prepared to start the school day on time, and be well-rested. Please make it a practice and priority to maintain communication with your child's teacher. It is critical for your child to see the time you invest in their education.

I believe it is extremely important for your child to know his or her school administrators, and I will work hard to make sure that happens. I hold myself accountable for being visible in the hallways, cafeteria, and classrooms. My hope is that you and your child find me both approachable and easy to speak to and you won't hesitate to contact me if you ever have questions, concerns, or just want to share good news about your child or our school. I want you to feel welcome to stop by school, whether it's to volunteer, have lunch with your child, or to simply say hello.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you at JA!
